“Opposites attract. Families don't.”

In the Los Angeles area, two millennials meet by chance and start dating: Ezra (Jonah Hill), a secular Jewish man from a liberal, well-off family, and Amira (Lauren London). Then comes the introduction of their parents, with Shelley (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) on one side and Akbar (Eddie Murphy) on the other. Kenya Barris builds the film around two families and what each expects of love, faith and a child's future.
