“A Cold-Shiver MYSTERY With Hot-Rhythm MUSIC!”

Kay Kyser, the bandleader playing himself, wants a paying gig for his orchestra, and his manager finds one: a birthday party for the heiress Janis Bellacrest (Helen Parrish) at a spooky mansion. David Butler fills the house with Professor Karl Fenninger (Peter Lorre), Judge Spencer Mainwaring (Boris Karloff) and Prince Saliano (Bela Lugosi). Kyser, who came to play music, ends up looking after the girl the party was meant for.
