Young Winston

“Rebel Soldier Hustler Prisoner Fugitive Firebrand”

As a boy, Winston Churchill (Simon Ward) wants one thing: a word of approval from his father, Lord Randolph Churchill (Robert Shaw), who has little to spare for him. Richard Attenborough follows him from miserable school days to the cavalry in India and the Sudan, then to the Boer War as a war correspondent. Beside the cold father stands his mother, Lady Jennie (Anne Bancroft), and the headmaster, Mr. Welldon (Jack Hawkins).
