Youth of the Beast

Jôji Mizuno (Joe Shishido) is a stranger with no known past who walks into Tokyo's underworld and hires himself out to two rival yakuza gangs at once. Seijun Suzuki sets him loose among the nightclubs and back rooms where Shibata (Daizaburo Hirata) and Hideo Nomoto (Tamio Kawachi) keep their men. Everything Jo does there pulls the gangs closer to open war, and every other character is trying to work out whose side he is really on.
