Zarafa
The story begins in the Sudanese desert, where a small boy named Maki (Max Renaudin) slips his shackles at night and runs from slavers across the moonlit savannah. He finds Zarafa, a baby giraffe as orphaned as he is, and the nomad Hassan (Simon Abkarian), who agrees to take them to Alexandria. Rémi Bezançon and Jean-Christophe Lie draw the whole trip in wide hand-painted frames, the long-necked animal moving across parched desert, mountain wind and open sky.
