Zatoichi

“His sword made him a hero... his courage made him a legend.”

Zatoichi (Takeshi Kitano) is a blind wanderer who earns his keep as a masseur and loses a good part of it at the dice tables. He walks into a village split between warring gangs, where the townspeople pay for every quarrel, and he takes up their cause with his cane sword. Kitano directs it as a fight for people who cannot protect themselves.
