Zatoichi and the Chess Expert

Zatoichi (Shintarō Katsu), the blind masseur, has found a friend over a chess board in Tadasu Jumonji (Mikio Narita), a man everyone else treats as dangerous. The yakuza of Ejimaya and a crowd of relatives hungry for revenge are closing in on Ichi, and there is a sick child he wants to save. Kenji Misumi films the dice games and sword fights with the same flat stillness.
