Zatoichi: Darkness Is His Ally

Ichi, the blind masseur known as Zatoichi (Shintarō Katsu), walks into a quiet rural village hoping to be left alone. Two rival yakuza clans are fighting over the place, and Boss Han Bosatsu (Kanako Higuchi) and Boss Goemon (Ryûtarô Gan) both want his help or his silence. Katsu, who also directed, returns to the role sixteen years on as an older man who prefers peace and keeps a sword he would rather not draw.
