Zatoichi the Outlaw

Zatoichi (Shintarō Katsu), the blind masseur who gambles and fights, just wants a quiet stretch of road and an honest living. He walks into a district where one gambling house has seized peasants over their unpaid debts, while a rival house, led by Asagoro (Rentaro Mikuni), pays those debts and sets the farmers free. Satsuo Yamamoto keeps the story among the poor who owe money to both sides, and Zatoichi has no way to stay out of it.
