Zatoichi's Flashing Sword

In a Japanese village on a river crossing, the blind masseur Zatoichi (Shintarō Katsu) arrives to repay an old debt and is shot by a gang member before he can. A young woman, Okuni (Naoko Kubo), nurses him back to health, and Kazuo Ikehiro lets him owe her more than he owed before. Her father's ferry service is under attack by the same gang, and Zatoichi decides that a debt of kindness is paid in the only way he knows.
