“The night of the man who chewed asphalt.”

Moth (Zahari Baharov) walks out of prison on parole, jailed for a murder he says he never committed. He went in just before the 1944 communist coup and comes out into the totalitarian Sofia of the 1960s, where the first night of freedom leads through decaying neighborhoods, gloomy streets and a strange parade of characters. Javor Gardev shoots it in black and white, a city where the past is never as buried as the state would like.
