Zigeunerweisen

Two friends are walking the road together when they meet a blind trio of traveling musicians, and the meeting leaves them tangled up with each other's women. Aochi (Toshiya Fujita), a university professor, and the drifting Nakasago (Yoshio Harada) keep crossing paths with Sono and Koine (both Naoko Ohtani). Seijun Suzuki sets all of it in the Taishō era and plays a scratched gramophone record of Sarasate's violin through the film like a ghost.
