“There's more than one way to lose your life to a killer.”

Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal), a cartoonist at the San Francisco Chronicle, becomes obsessed with solving the Zodiac murders when the killer starts taunting the newspaper with ciphered letters. Detective David Toschi (Mark Ruffalo) pursues the case while Graysmith digs deeper into suspect after suspect, filling notebooks with theories. By the end, Graysmith sits alone in a movie theater, watching the screen, unable to stop searching.
