“What hides in the city of robots?”

David Carmichael (Guy Pearce) is a private investigator who works alone and takes the jobs that come. The designer Joseph Veidt (Jonathan Aris) hires him to find his missing adult daughter inside a walled city where humans pay to spend time with humanoid robots. Andrew Baird sends him in beside Jane (Matilda Lutz), a robot he is told to trust, and David has to decide how far a stranger's search is worth his own.
