Zuzu Angel

Zuzu Angel (Patricia Pillar) is a celebrated fashion designer in early 1970s Rio de Janeiro, until her son Stuart (Daniel de Oliveira), an activist, is arrested by the military regime. She starts going door to door, asking where he is and getting answers that do not match. Sérgio Rezende films the period in grainy, washed-out color, so the dictatorship feels close and the censorship hard to breathe through.
